Get your tabs back after Chrome crashes or a window is closed
Nothing can be saved at the moment a window closes: by then its tabs are gone. Stowback writes down what is open a moment after every change instead, so it is already there when something goes wrong.
Coming soon to the Chrome Web StoreHow
- Install Stowback. There is nothing to switch on.
- After a crash or a restart, open the panel: it offers the tabs that were open and are not open now. Press "Bring them back".
- For a window closed by mistake, open the Timeline and press Reopen. For a single tab, the Timeline lists the last 100 tabs you closed.
What you get
- Each window comes back with its groups, and a workspace window is followed again.
- The timeline gets at most one entry a minute and thins out as it ages, so it does not grow without end.
- The free plan shows the last 7 days; Pro shows a year.
- Deleting a snapshot or a workspace, closing duplicate tabs and replacing a window can each be undone from the Timeline.
Limits worth knowing
- Changes made in the last second or two before a crash may not have been written yet.
- It can only bring back what happened while it was installed.
- If you switch the timeline off in Settings, only the state needed after a crash is kept.
This is part of the free plan. See pricing.
