Pro feature
Back up your saved tabs and tab groups to a file
An extension keeps its data inside the browser. If the extension or the browser profile is removed, the data goes with it. A file does not.
Coming soon to the Chrome Web StoreHow
- Free: open the Backup tab and press "Back up now". Keep the file wherever you keep files.
- Pro: switch on "Write a backup file every day". Chrome asks once for permission to save files.
- To restore, or to move to another computer, install Stowback there and import the file.
What you get
- The daily backup goes to a folder named Stowback in your Downloads: one file replaced each day, and one kept per month.
- If your Downloads folder is synced by a cloud drive, so is the backup, without Stowback ever talking to that drive.
- A backup holds your snapshots, workspaces and settings. It never holds your license key.
- The panel reminds you when you have had no backup for two weeks.
Limits worth knowing
- Chrome may show each automatic backup in its downloads bar.
- The automatic backup needs Chrome’s permission to save files, which you can take back at any time.
- The timeline is not part of a backup.
Every install starts with 14 days of Pro, no card needed. See pricing.
