Open fifty saved tabs without loading fifty pages
Bringing back a big session usually means every page loads at once. Stowback puts each tab in its place and lets it load when you click it.
Coming soon to the Chrome Web StoreHow
- Save a window or a workspace as usual.
- Open it again. With more than 15 tabs they are left unloaded by themselves; Settings lets you choose always or never.
- Click a tab to load it.
What you get
- Titles and groups are in place straight away.
- The "Unload tabs to free memory" tool does the same for a window that is already open.
- "Sweep tabs you have not used" saves the tabs you have not looked at for days as one snapshot and closes them.
Limits worth knowing
- Each tab still makes one request to its site when it is opened, so that its address is known. It saves memory, not that first request.
- A tab that is slow to answer may show its address instead of its title until you click it.
This is part of the free plan. See pricing.
