Copy any web page as clean Markdown for AI

Pasting a page into an AI chat usually drags along menus, cookie banners, ads and footers. Pluckdown copies the content and leaves the rest behind.

Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store

How

  1. Open the page.
  2. Press Alt+Shift+G, or click the toolbar button to see a preview first.
  3. Paste into your AI. The prompt ends with "Task:" so you can type your question straight away.

What you get

  • Tables stay tables, code blocks keep their language and indentation, links become absolute.
  • Title, address, author and date go above the content, so the AI can cite it.
  • Text hidden on the page is left out, and you are warned if a page contains text that reads like instructions to an AI.
  • A completeness grade tells you when a paywall, a collapsed section or an embedded frame means something is missing.
  • Select text first to copy only that, or pick one element with the mouse.

Limits worth knowing

  • Browser pages such as chrome:// and the Chrome Web Store cannot be read by any extension.
  • Content inside embedded frames from another site is not captured.
  • Pages that draw their text on a canvas need a screenshot instead (a Pro feature).
