How

  1. Open the PDF in a Chrome tab.
  2. Click the toolbar button or press Alt+Shift+G.
  3. Paste into your AI.

What you get

  • The text is read on your device. The file is not uploaded anywhere by the extension.
  • Headings are recognised by their size, and monospace passages become code blocks.
  • Words split across lines are joined, and lines repeated on every page are removed.

Limits worth knowing

  • A scanned PDF with no text layer needs OCR first. The extension tells you when that is the case.
  • Tables in a PDF come out as lines of text, not as tables.
  • Files up to 25 MB.
  • For a file on your computer, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for the extension.
