Redact personal data and secrets before pasting into AI

Work pages are full of things that should not be pasted into a chat: customer emails, phone numbers, keys. Pluckdown swaps them for placeholders on your device.

Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store

How

  1. Turn on "Redact personal data and secrets" in the panel, or make it the default in Settings.
  2. Copy and paste as usual. The preview shows exactly what will be sent.
  3. When the AI answers, use "Restore redacted values" to put the real values back.

What you get

  • Emails, phone numbers, card numbers, API keys and tokens, and optionally IP addresses.
  • Your own patterns for customer ids or project code names.
  • The same value always gets the same placeholder, so the AI can still reason about who is who.
  • Nothing is sent anywhere to do this. It runs in your browser.

Limits worth knowing

  • Pattern matching cannot catch everything, names in running text for example. Check the preview before sending anything sensitive.
  • The values for restoring are remembered only until the browser is closed.

Every install starts with 7 days of Pro, no card needed. See pricing.
